I totally understand everyone's issue with a new ride to bring in the children, I don't totally agree thou. When our children were young they tolerated going to EPCOT because we enjoyed it and we tried to make it enjoyable for them. We always wished there was more for the young children to enjoy. Now that we no longer have young children, I unfortunately am with you. Since Disney can't seem to bring in more countries which is terrible, they may as well do something with the land for guests to enjoy. Morocco is already a bottleneck with the restaurant along the lake, someone was asleep designing the space for crowds to walk safely in. I can only hope this doesn't become worse.

I completely disagree. For "YOUNG" children, there is Magic Kingdom. In my opinion, Epcot is more for the middle-school to high-school children to enjoy. They get to have some thrill with Test Track, Soarin' and Mission:SPACE and still get to enjoy the fun with Journey Into Imagination With Figment or The Seas with Nemo and Friends or Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros while they get to learn about other countries with O' Canada, Impressions of France, Reflections of China and all the museum-like attractions like Mexico folk art gallery or Gallery of arts and history at Morocco and even learn a little bit about America's own history with American Adventure. Epcot wasn't originally designed for "YOUNG" children.
Also...."Since Disney can't seem to bring in more countries which is terrible" as you say, then obviously you haven't read this thread "New World Showcase Country".
Also...."Morocco is already a bottleneck with the restaurant along the lake, someone was asleep designing the space for crowds to walk" as you say. First Morocco isn't the only place with restaurants on both sides.....Mexico with La Cantina de San Angel and La Hacienda de San Angel on the lake side....or....France with its food carts (Crepes des Chefs de France and Les Vins des Chefs de France) on the lake side....or....United Kingdom with Rose & Crown Dining Room and Pub and UK Beer Cart and Yorkshire County Fish Shop on the lake side....or....China with Joy of Tea on the lake side....or....America with American Garden Theatre on the lake side. I agree that those areas ALL have bottlenecks happening there but you have to remember that the part was 35 years ago (this coming October 1st) and when it was originally designed the crowds weren't this big. The park's attendance was low 10 million and now is close to 12 million. Crowds have also become more year round with ever small changes between the months or seasons. To say that the designers were asleep, then I guess you say that for any town or city you live in. If designers were "awake" then every road built from scratch should automatically be like 6 or 8 lanes based of your theory that they should have known better when they originally designed things. History has shown that infrastructure is behind no matter when aspect it is in. What size house was your first house? What size house did you buy when you started having kids? If they aren't the same, then I could say that you were asleep when you decided to buy you house as you did not design for the future.

My first house is also my current house, we have lived here 40 years, sorry I couldn't make you happy by making a mistake. Plus no expansion to the original house. We also have the nicest house and yard in our area.
The bottle neck at Morocco was caused not that long ago when they built the restaurant along the lake, that is what I am talking about.
When I finally see a new country being built in EPCOT then I will say I was wrong that they cannot bring in another country.

Thanks Rich, I was hoping you wouldn't take it wrong. Our house may be the nicest in the area, but, what kind of area am I in? lol
We are not rich by no means and never tried to make believe that we were. We just worked hard, fixed the house up when it needed to be and I always had the nicest yard with a lot of flowers. Then about 5 years ago, houses were broke into in the surrounding towns, when they caught the people, they asked why did you pick certain houses over others and the answer was they looked nicer.
From that time on the flowers got less and less, now I grow mostly vegetables but the yard is still nice and I'm complimented on how nicely everything is.
We want to get out and move to Florida, our problem is we have lived here so long it is now hard to leave.
Boy did I get off the subject of the new ride in France. LOL
I hope it's nice, I really want Disney to improve EPCOT, it is our favorite park.
Before I hit the question at hand....Here is my thought of crowd control and bottlenecks. IF EVERYONE would take time to explore and enjoy each country, maybe the crowds in the main drag wouldn't be as bad. In true WDW fashion, there are things to see tucked back in corners and alleys. But, everyone likes to walk straight through. My thoughts? Roam around each country and explore. There are gardens, benches and sometimes a character in training hiding in most corners. I'm not sure how many countries can be added or how much "room" is allowed for them, but I like the thought of each country using every inch of their space. Now, I don't mean knockdown every bush, tree and plant, but bring more of the "homeland" to EPCOT. Now, to the question at hand, I have been very behind in the forum, but I can say that I hope the new ride is in some way a nod or experience from France. Not just another copy of another roller coaster type ride. I like the idea of EPCOT being more of an "older/not kiddie" park. I think it's ok for children to maybe take in learning something new about each area and filling in their passports. My grandkids were "bored" until they met their first Kidcot ambassador. They were engaging, fun and drew them into the facts of their country. It all depends on how the adults around the children handle the situation. Now, this is probably a whole new thread....what do you think Doc?

I completely agree that there is so much to see in each country...like the small garden in Japan or the art and history museum in Morocco. To answer one of your questions....there are currently 11 countries represented throughout the World Showcase with slots for 9 more countries.
I thought I had put a video of what the ride will look like but I don't see it. It is on the same basis as Ratatouille ride in Disneyland Paris. Here is the video...

I agree with what you say Missybee, We not only take EPCOT slow but all the parks and we do explore to find things others are too busy for. We now mostly do the 3 fastpasses and the rides that are not busy. We love to sit at Japan, out of the way and enjoy being there. the gardens are so nice to enjoy. Actually all the countries have quiet areas to sit and enjoy the scenery along with Future World. You just need to find them. Thanks for the movie clip Rich, it just makes me in my best French Realmente necesita vacaciones Disney (really need a Disney vacation) at least that is what I wanted to write.
Everybody Hello from Paris. I just read yesterday in the Annual Pass Quaterly Revue that Ratatouille should be implanted in Epcot. With Minnie, we thought it should be implanted in Imagination or replace Ellen's . We were wrong. Thanks for letting us know that it will expand the French Pavilion and made a link with the Moroccan one. Opening in 2021 I understand ? The ques in Disneyland Paris are son long for this attraction that I think it will give a relief for the Frozen ride. Anyway, it's more original that to to transform the Maëlstrom inton the same ride with differnet characters. I have wrutten several years ago on Trip Advisor that Epcot is a park which has grown old and is in search of its future. But I have no answer for what it should become. As for Ratatouille, as Minnie has a disabled card, we don't make the standing line. But the big problem is that it's closed for technical incidents at least half of the day. Let's hope for you that technically it will run better than in Paris.
Disney confirmed rumors at D23 Expo 2019 that the Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure attraction in Epcot’s France pavilion will open in Summer 2020. In this attraction, you’ll shrink to the size of Chef Remy and race through Gusteau’s restaurant on a wild adventure.
Also announced at D23 is a new restaurant coming to the France pavilion, La Creperie de Paris. The creperie will offer both table- and quick-service options featuring a menu from celebrity chef Jérôme Bocuse, who also heads Les Chefs de France.

On Monday, Disney Parks Blog announced that "if you’re soaring to or from Epcot aboard Disney Skyliner, there’s a tasty new treat for your eyes – the sign for Gusteau’s restaurant was just installed above the expanding France pavilion in World Showcase!"
Gusteau’s is the famed Parisian establishment that is home to Chef Remy from Disney and Pixar’s “Ratatouille.” It’s also the soon-to-be setting for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, the delicious new attraction opening this summer at Epcot. This family-friendly experience will invite you on a super-sized adventure with Chef Remy, where you’ll race through Gusteau’s kitchen in special trackless ride vehicles.
The new sign is visible from your Disney Skyliner gondola as you approach or depart the International Gateway station at Epcot, so keep your eyes peeled. It’s the latest signal that we’re getting closer and closer to taking a ride with “Little Chef” on Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, one of several new experiences coming to Epcot as part of the park’s historic transformation already underway.
Scattered around EPCOT are some maps specifically made for the 2020 EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival. Just like we saw during the Festival of the Arts, the event map had shown what Future World would look like towards the end of the festival. Today, we have a first look at Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and the whole France Pavilion expansion project thanks to a Flower and Garden map. Here’s a look!
The map offers us much more than just a first look at the pavilion expansion, it also hints at the opening timeframe of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and the France Pavilion expansion.
Of course, with the closure of Spaceship Earth confirmed for May 26th, it would stand to reason that Disney might want to distract guests with a new ride, but that’s just speculation. Disney hasn’t officially announced an opening date for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.
In addition, the attraction has been added to the listings on the paper park maps.
So what does this all mean? Since the maps all have art promoting the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, there is a chance that the attraction and expansion may open before the festival ends on June 1st. That could accommodate crowds coming to visit for Memorial Day weekend from May 23rd to the 25th, considered by many as the unofficial start of summer.
