Disney has clarified that there are some Disney Resort hotels and other areas that are not yet being scheduled for reopening. They’ve also noted that given the constant evolution of the situation, these dates are subject to change and guests’ reservations could still be modified to other Disney World hotels if needed.

Important to Note:
Now, it’s important to note that if your booked resort hotel is NOT scheduled to be open during your reservation dates and you still want to visit Disney World, you will need to contact Disney to modify your reservation or it could be canceled. Guests will be able to contact Disney June 22nd, to modify reservations scheduled after July 10th.

We sit here hoping that things can finally get back to what we thought was normal, especially WDW.
That was our Happy Place and the reason we went 4-5 times a year.
The future is not that clear anymore, so we talk about the good times we had.
Oh to just go back and enjoy them again.
Hope this pandemic goes away very soon so everyone can experience the good old days.

Guests will have one more transportation option on July 15th. The Disney Skyliner gondola system is scheduled to resume operation on that date, servicing all lines. Guests will be able to utilize the system to get between EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, in addition to all resorts on the line.

Disney has also announced that the monorail will begin partial service on July 11th. As of publish time, only the Magic Kingdom routes will reopen on July 11th. That means express service will reopen and resort service will reopen. The EPCOT line will not reopen on the 11th and an opening date has not been identified. Guests staying at the Magic Kingdom area resorts will need to utilize the buses if they want to get to EPCOT.

Here is the current information of the which transportation will be available when throughout the park.

Monorails

The Disney World monorails will begin service on July 7th. It was previously announced that monorail service would begin on July 11th with the official reopening of Magic Kingdom, but Disney has updated the dates to reflect operation for the Cast Member and Annual Passholder previews.

While Disney didn’t specify that EPCOT loop would be closed, we have heard that it won’t be in operation and Disney hasn’t identified a reopening date.

Ferry Boats
Ferry Boats will also resume service on July 7th to service the preview dates into the official reopening of the theme parks.

Disney Skyliner
The Disney Skyliner gondola system will reopen on July 15th.

Minnie Van
As of right now, Disney hasn’t identified a reopening date for the Minnie Van service, but will offer more info at a later date.

Watercraft
Like the Minnie Van service, Disney hasn’t offered a reopening time frame for the watercraft options.

Disney has changed some of the reopening dates for the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels. As part of this reopening schedule update, Disney’s Beach Club Resort and Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, originally set to reopen on August 24 and October 1 (respectively), will now remain closed.

Both Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort were originally set to reopen on August 12. New reopening dates for these resorts are Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will reopen on October 4 while Disney’s Art of Animation Resort will reopen on November 1.

As a reminder, the Disney Vacation Club portion of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, reopened on June 22 and remains open for DVC members and guests.

Here is a reminder of the dates for the remaining resorts still scheduled to reopen are as follows:
- Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort – July 29
- Disney’s Yacht Club Resort – August 24
- Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa – September 21
- Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort – October 14

While the reopening dates for the following resorts have not been provided:
- Disney’s All-Stars Resorts
- Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter and Riverside
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge (non-DVC)
- Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

Yesterday, Disney announced an update on their face mask policy.

Face coverings are required for all Guests ages 2 and older.

Face coverings must:
- Be made with at least two layers of breathable material
- Fully cover the nose and mouth, and secure under the chin.
- Fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face
- Be secured with ties or ear-loops
- Allow Guest to remain hands-free

The following are not permitted:
- Neck gaiters
- Open-chin triangle bandanas
- Face coverings with valves, mesh or holes of any kind
- Costume masks

Disney has updated their "Dining: Know Before You Go" website to add that temperature screenings have been expanded to Walt Disney World Resort Hotel Table-Service Restaurants.

Health and Hygiene

New measures have been implemented across Walt Disney World dining locations to promote health and hygiene, including:

Enhanced Cleaning: We’ve increased cleaning in high-traffic areas such as public elevators and escalators, handrails, benches, tables, handles, restrooms and more. Additionally, seating areas, dining areas and pagers will be cleaned between Guests.

Temperature Screenings: Guests dining in table-service restaurants at Disney Resort hotels will undergo a temperature screening prior to entering the location. As with other locations at Walt Disney World Resort that require temperature screenings before entry, anyone displaying a temperature of 100.4 F or above will be directed to an additional rescreening. Those with temperatures 100.4 F or above will not be allowed entry; those in their party will not be allowed entry either.

Reduced-Contact Menus: At quick-service restaurants, menus are displayed on signage. And at table-service restaurants, you can scan a code with your mobile device to access the digital menu.

Self-Serve Changes: Beverages and other items that were previously self-serve are now served by Cast Members instead.

WDW is certainly trying to be safe for everyone. So glad we went in February and came home March 4, right now that was the last "normal" time. Sure hope a vaccine comes quickly and works.
I have seen pictures posted of almost no one in the parks, sad to see.

September 16, 2021 – Disney’s All-Star Music Resort

October 14, 2021 – Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside

October 28, 2021 – Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter

December 9, 2021 – Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort

Now that the Port Orleans and All Star Resorts have reopening dates, all currently closed hotels have scheduled returns between now and 2021. Barring delay, every hotel at Walt Disney World will reopen before 2022.

Finally returned, it has been a terrible 3 years of this pandemic. I stopped posting because it was hard to just say something upbeat and nice.
We returned for our first visit this past March, it was 3 years and 1 week exactly from when we left the week before the world closed.
Our first 2 days were hard, especially the second day we went to Magic Kingdom, it was packed, the new idea of paying more for rides we would not do. After 2 hours we left.
We wore our masks as much as we could to stay safe.
Our third day we went to EPCOT, we had a fantastic time and enjoyed ourselves almost like old times.
Hope someone responds and i will write more in the coming days.

Hi Missybee, nice to see you responded, I actually kept forgetting to check the group to see if anyone saw my first post in years.
Yes, it's very easy to forget the forum (ignore) since we all have our current lives to deal with.

We have gone back 4 times this year for a week each time. It's nice to finally try to enjoy our lives like we used to. Of course, we wear our masks as often as we have to, in crowded stores, when people are coughing, sneezing and we are constantly sanitizing our hands and washing them when possible.
With that said, we try not to get sick, it's a much easier way to enjoy life. And nobody knows what the next variant will be like, could be worse than the first one.

We are going back to WDW for the 5th time this year in another week. We wanted to enjoy the holiday decorations once again.
So, most of our time will be walking around the parks and visiting the resorts.

The kitchens look very good this holiday season and I expect to sample many of them.
