Mid to late October. It's less hot, but still pool weather. Crowds are much lighter too.
I agree with you especially about the crowds but don't go to the pools much.
I know right.....I only do the pools if grandkids insist....otherwise you DO know what goes on in those pools right people? It's not like my own private pool at home

Any time we are lucky enough to visit WDW is our favorite time! At this point in my life I am only able to go during school vacations. I know that I would not be able to handle the heat of the summer, so Feb and April vacations are our options. We have gone 3 times in April, once even on Easter and loved it for different reasons each time! Definitely lower crowds if vacation falls a couple of weeks after Easter, so that would be my favorite time!
I haven't tried after Easter but have read that there is definitely less crowds during that time.
It really all depends on schools times off.....some up north (like where I was from) were off the week AFTER Easter and now kids living near me seem to be off the week BEFORE it.....

up North...where? Usually, the further North you do, yes Easter break is after Easter compared to further South you go. That is to go with the weather and hoping less snow to wait until after Easter.

I always plan on going the Friday after Thanksgiving for a week to nine days. Crowds drop significantly on that Sunday and I am a sucker for the holiday decorations that are up!
Our favorite time of year has always been October for nice weather and temperatures. It started on our honeymoon which was our first trip in 1975. This continued even when the children were in school, we would pull them out for a week until they got into junior high. Now, we have been back to October with and without them enjoying the food and wine for the last 9 years. We are trying to make it back again this October.
