So, my question to clarify things, if you tip are you DVC and still do $1/person a day, or are you not DVC? As Dean stated above, they only bring towels and clean the 4th day. Thanks!
Pcs I am DVC and depending on the length of my stay I tip according to when they entered my room.....if I stayed for an overnight I tip on departure....once.....but if I am there up to 3-3 days and haven't seen them at all, I tip same as upon departure....not incrementally as per day......we have stayed for 8 days back when we still lived up north and in that case, I left something on day 4 for the clean towels, etc and again on departure.....BUT the exception was one trip thT one my little ones got sick and in the bed and I had to call for clean bedding at 10 pm.....the girl came up within 10 minutes with not only clean sheets, but clean blanket and pillows just in case as well as a set of fresh towels.....since I was there (obviously) I gave her $20 on the spot cuz she insisted she be the one to make the bed fresh.....I had taken the stuff off the bed myself before she arrived.....she also came in with a ginger ale and some crackers just in case.....SOOO very thoughtful

Thanks for the clarification. Being DVC we normally don't tip unless someone goes out of their way or surprises us during out stay, unfortunately, it has been a while since MouseKeeping has done that though!

I agree.....it's been a while since anything was that nice about DVC cleaning the rooms.....I've even found them, like Dean, lacking and when asked for comments I have made them honestly.....finding dirty hair in a shower is no fun for me.....

Wait, wouldn't the hair be clean?
Actually no, it was in a clump stuck on the shower wall....so assuming it was dirty as well.....

We all come at tipping from different places....DVC is different from us "Average Joes" that book a vacation once a year or every other year. We have Mousekeeping in the room everyday and these last few times, they kept moving the boys stuffed animals around the room and getting them into all kinds of things. We had towel animals, a few times, too. The room was always neat and clean. And with two small guys in tow, well we did our best to keep it clean before they got there, but it was always very nice when we arrived at the end of the day.
And no, any hair in the shower is dirty hair.....I can't even clean my own drain at home without gagging!
