i am updating the original thread to add my review of Akershus Royal Banquet Hall at the beginning.
My grandson's had a "princess overload" trip to Akershus and I think they actually liked it because "The Girl in the Blue Dress" was there and she is their favorite. As you enter the castle, you get to meet and greet with Belle and then are whisked off to a buffet style appetizer selection called: Taste of Norway "Everyone’s Royal Feast begins with an authentic “Taste of Norway” featuring some of the finest Scandinavian Seafood, Imported Cheeses, cured and sliced Meats, and a vast selection of Salads and Fruits"-https://disneyworld.disney.go.com
The best funny line of that day was when our waitstaff explained that the meatball dish had the sauce on it like we would get at IKEA! (I wonder if Anna and Elsa have IKEA cards? ) Anyway, I decided to give the dish a try and it it was very good. The official name is: Tradisjonell Kjøttkake Norwegian Meatballs served with Mashed Potatoes, Seasonal Vegetables, and Lingonberry Sauce.
We have Akershus on our list for April. What are your thoughts and favorite dishes? I know everyone is different, as far as taste goes, but I like getting a few reviews before going to a new place.
I've only been for the princess breakfast which is a set price with some counter service items you get on your own and the potatoes scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage served family style on a huge platter with refills as many times as you ask. The same with juice and coffee....their food was hot and very good.....

We loved the whole Akershus princess experience when we went on our first trip! It was in 2009, so I'm sure there have been changes, but we all found tasty things to try from the cold buffet. I think it's a great way to sample new foods without the commitment! Plenty of fruit and familiar choices for my less adventurous daughter. For entrees, my husband had the Kjottkake (Norwegian meatballs), I had the goat cheese ravioli and I believe my daughter had a hotdog! Probably wouldn't say they were our favorite dishes, but to be honest, we are pretty easy to please and we all enjoyed our meals. We were so stuffed we declined dessert...BUT they brought it to our table and after oohing and aahing and taking pictures of it...we inhaled that, too! Lots of time with the princesses so my daughter was happy and Jasmine was there, so my husband was happy, too!

I have an ADR for 7 of us there for dinner on March 19. I'll let you know how it goes.
