The BoardwLk is one place doc.....but depending on where you are in them yes you can see fireworks from the resort....it's sorta "behind" where you come out by The bridge between England and France......so actually seeing them right in Epcot is what I prefer but easy enough to walk out the back way and "home"
second star to the right and straight on till morning
I enjoy the Wilderness Lodge but being that I only go to WDW about every 5 years, I cannot say I have stayed at many
We are on the 3 year plan and have only stayed at Pop Century. It fit the budget and our needs for our first trips since we were barely at the resort! Seriously no complaints and we never waited for a bus! Someday, when we plan to spend more time at the resort I hope to be able to stay at AK or the Poly!
You will love the Polynesian!

I actually own DVC at the Polynesian and haven't even stayed there yet myself.....I saved all my points to do a cruise with my 3 kids and 2 grands in Sept 2017..... but u can bet after that cruise I will be heading to stay at the Polynesian!

You have to! It was gorgeous before the renovations...it must be more than that now. Captain Cook's is my favorite...we would travel from the GF and CR just to eat there. Tonga toast is the best...and it tastes just as good at the Kona Cafe. And of course there's 'Ohana. Makes me wish I was there right now and out of this frigid weather.

We just stayed in Port Orleans French Quarter for the first time in 27 years, this was our very first WDW Resort and got us hooked. Our problem was it only slept 4 plus an infant that first stay, then we couldn't go back because we had 5.
The resort was very nice and relaxing, food court was great and the boats to Disney Springs worked well until our last day when a minor boating accident took place and backed up the boats for some time. Luckily no one was injured.
Buses were frequent and only picked up here and went directly to the parks, coming back they stopped at River Side also.
The walkway to Riverside was not that long (maybe 1 mile)and we did this a few times, once to just swim in a quiet pool. This was Spring Break and the 1 pool at the FQ was packed each day.
A new addition to the Yacht and Beach Club Stormalong Bay Pool is 4 Cabana's. These have flat screen tv's, couches, chairs, refrigerator and a cabana boy to run for whatever you need. cost is $199.00 for a half day (10am-2pm) and $299.00 for a full day (10am-7pm). They provide a free fruit platter in the morning and a desert in the afternoon. Each day all 4 were booked.

We will stay here again in the future.
We like Port Orleans Riverside and typically stay in Alligator Bayou as they tend to a little quicker and slightly further from the main building. As we don't mind walking, it works for us.
Prior: Offsite most every other years from 1972 - 2000

That is where we went swimming in one of the Alligator Bayou quiet pools, this brought back old memories when this was our main resort to accommodate a family of 5 and not have to book a Deluxe.
We sent a picture of the old fishing hole to our son, he unfortunately did not remember me taking him fishing there. It was nice for my memory even if he forgot.
