Earlier this morning, “Good Morning America” offered viewers a sneak peek inside Toy Story Land, the new land inspired by the “Toy Story” films that’s set to open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on June 30 – including a new look at Slinky Dog Dash!
One of the land’s highly anticipated attractions, Slinky Dog Dash is a family coaster themed as if Andy built it in his backyard using his Mega Coaster Play Kit and some other favorite toys, including Jessie and Rex! As you can see in the new video above, the attraction’s ride vehicles – inspired by the character of Slinky in the film – will send riders dipping, dodging and dashing around turns.
In addition to experiencing attractions in Toy Story Land, guests can also be entertained by the Sarge and the Green Army Man Drum Corps, who will march through the land several times a day and stop to play “Sarge Says” with guests, and other games with a larger-than-life Pixar ball and crayons. Guests also have the option to join in on their interactive boot camp to see if they have what it takes to become an official recruit in Andy’s Backyard.
Earlier this spring, Walt Disney Imagineering welcomed Wheezy, the toy penguin from the Disney•Pixar “Toy Story” films, to Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This squeaky penguin will make his mark in Disney history by becoming the first and only Wheezy Audio-Animatronics figure in a Disney theme park.

I can't wait to ride Slinky Dog Dash! I might have to pass on the Alien Swirling Saucers...can't do the Mad Tea Party...too much spinning is not my cup of tea.

I don't Alien Swirling Saucers is like the Mad Tea Party. It is based on the Mater's Junkyard Jamboree at Disney California Adventure. Check out the video below...

This is going to be such a fantastic experience to just walk around like you are the size of a toy in Andy's back yard. Can't wait, hope Woody's lunch box is as busy as the picture above, LOL

According to WDW Magic, Disney's Hollywood Studios opened 2 hours earlier than announced at 6:00 a.m., and Toy Story Land quickly filled up with guests. The photo is from guests beginning to queue at 4:30 a.m. to enter Disney's Hollywood Studios. Slinky Dog Dash, the highlight of the land, reached a 4 hour wait within the first hour of operation. Toy Story Land itself then quickly reached capacity, leaving operations to effectively close the land to everyone other than those with a FP+ reservation. By 9:00 a.m., guests were being told of a 3 to 4 hour wait to enter Toy Story Land, and then 300 minutes for Slinky Dog Dash once they got inside.

Observations: Woody's lunch box: Great quick service food. Totchos were great and I am glad to have had the Monte Cristo (before it was discontinued). Some of the theming and touches were ingenious! Streetmosphere: Fantastic! The Green Army Men are even better and really got the crowds engaged. If you see them they are worth the momentary distraction. Midway Mania: The que got even better and Mr Potato Head is funnier than ever! Aliens Swirling Saucers: It is Fun - the whip is more intense than you think, but the spin is mild. It is a great balance for a ride. Slinky Dog Dash: Was great!!! It is more intense than just a kiddie coaster, but not too bad. There are a few zero-g points that really make it fun. Currently the views into Star Wars Galaxies Edge are amazing as well.
Overall: It is amazing that you can walk right up to the rides and get that close. The theming is great!!! IT IS HOT!!!!!! There is next to no shade and the only air is at Midway Mania - so prepare accordingly. It has a whole different feel at night - try to experience it both ways! There is only one entrance/exit so it gets congested there. Overall they did really well, we went there three times and rode everything multiple times. Enjoy it!
