Thanks for the update Rich, it will be a nice alternative and a new view of the area. I saw the boarded area at International Gateway, That spot always looked like they needed to put something there. Has there been any talk on how a guest will enter the Skyliner? Since it will be enclosed and I'm sure more than 2 or 3 people per car it will need a longer boarding area than most rides. I'm sure they can't stop each car to load it up or the ride will be stop and go. Maybe separate cables, it will be interesting I can't wait to see it in action.
No reports yet on how guests will enter but in general, these cabins probably won't stop. For most gondola rides that I have seen, the employee stops and holds the car to guests, let the guests load and then push the car ahead to catch the cable. This way the ride never has to stop. Can even load a handicap person without completely stopping the ride but not load an EV.

amazing, I'm sure they will get it working correctly. My thinking was a separate loading cable to allow 10 or more guests into the "car" or what ever they decide to call it. Then it moves onto the continues moving cable, very interesting to see what they actually do.
Here is a video by the people that are building the gondola for WDW that show the "cabins" [minus the outside ski racks], which appear might hold up to 8 people; the loading process and how things happen/occur at the stations.
Here are some pictures from the company's website showing the D-Line system which is rumored to be the ones WDW are installing. I hope this helps answers some of your questions.
An updated photo of what / where the gondola station is going in at Epcot. As the gondolas arrive or depart, they go over the Friendship Boat dock located near International Gate.
I've been giving this a lot of thought lately, I was told the individual gondola's will not be airconditioned. I was already very hesitant giving them a try, the last thing I want to do is be stuck on one if it breaks down. Will be interesting to say the least.

You are correct....they won't be A/C'ed but they will be piped in with music. They are putting a lot of time and money into this project so I hope it all works out for the best.

I just read the entire system will be grounded and able to work with lightning in the area. They are giving it there best.
Hope the music is "cool" sounding for hot days. LOL

Last week, Disney Parks Blog released a video about this new transportation system. Remember, this new gondola system will conveniently connect Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot to four resort hotels- Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort as well as the proposed 15th Disney Vacation Club property, Disney’s Riviera Resort.
To bring Disney Skyliner to life, teams are making progress on this innovative system. In addition to uniquely Disney station designs that complement their surroundings, support towers have been popping up across Walt Disney World Resort and will soon be connected with a series of reinforced cables to carry guests in stylish themed gondolas. You may even see this work underway over the next several months as teams install the miles of cable between towers.
It was announced two weeks ago that the Disney Skyliner will start operating and transporting guests between Walt Disney World Resorts beginning Fall 2019. Bob Chapek, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products, announced that Disney Skyliner will be ready to begin transporting guests in this new state-of-the-art gondola system that connects Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot.
It will also transport guests to four resorts: Disney’s Art of Animation, Pop Century, Caribbean Beach and Disney Riviera, the 15th Disney Vacation Club property being built.
The Disney Skyliner will not only efficiently move you to your location, it’ll also offer a whole new way to experience Walt Disney World with amazing views only available from the sky. Guests arriving at the International Gateway station will be enter into Epcot while seeing new views across World Showcase.

Is it true that there will be no a/c on the gondolas?

From what I have read, that is true
