Why or how does having a Landry's card result in better table service??? Table service should be the same whether you have the card or not.
Priority seating for one. And a manager visit, keeps help on their toes.
No offense but if it takes a loyalty card to have the manager stop by your table to then keep the help on their toes, then they need a new manager. A really good manager should/does/will stop by every table to see how things are. A really good manager will also have good staff that is always on their toes. I understand the priority seating as I get the same at Hard Rock Cafes but I don't understand the manager part.
Prior: Offsite most every other years from 1972 - 2000
Most recent: Offsite 2001 & 2003 / ASM 2006 / Offsite 2009 / Poly 2011 / POR 2013 / CR 2014 / GF 2015 / DS Hotel 2017 / BC 2017 / POR 2018

I don't think the manager at any other restaurant in Disney has ever stopped by our Table, except for Landry's restaurants because of the card. They also will personally email me for review (within hours). If I had a problem, they will call and invite me back to make it right.
Im curious about the Manager visit, also. Whether it's the first or 50th visit, you would assume that a manager would want to make sure everyone had a good experience. If a Manager was going around and talking to customers in a restaurant and skipped me....I wouldn't be happy. Everything else, I understand. To buy a card to get the Manager to ask me if my visit and food was good doesn't sound right. Again, I understand all the other perks and have looked into the idea of the Landry card.

I agree I haven't seen a manager at every Disney restaurants but I do remember talking to the manager at Boma, Artist Point, Monsieur Paul and the last time we ate at Le Cellier. It should be EVERY restaurant. This is part of their job!!!!

I agree. If they did, then it would have eliminated 75% of my worst restaurants in Disney. It's the same here. Bdubs manager always visits the table and we have excellent service. One night they had a rough night. I didn't have to say a word. They comp'd the food and drinks. Only had to pay for appetizers. DW and I go almost every Tuesday.
Honestly, we have made a point to try at least one new restaurant each trip. Tasting is believing. We read reviews, we watch videos about them, we listen to friends but ultimately it will be what we like after experiencing the location ourselves. Part of the reason I am pro Dining Plan is that if the meal was pre-paid- at least I am not agonizing when the bill comes out - sort of takes away the sting as a learning opportunity.
Our Staples are Ohana's (so much so we have 3 ADR's this time) and Chef Mickey's (tradition).
Our conflicting examples are Liberty Tree & Be Our Guest- Liberty Tree: the menu looked bad, had not seen many good reviews. We went and had one of the best meals during our last trip. It is now in the rotation of Favorites.
Be Our Guest: Both my son and I got a steak and had to return it multiple times (rare and cold in the center). Probably the easiest thing on the menu and they could not get it right! The atmosphere was amazing, but I want the food at least palatable. We are trying for lunch based on reviews we read here - it has been a few years maybe things changed!?
For What it's Worth: We love Tony's - We are not expecting Italian Food like we get up here in New York/Jersey (I worked in an Italian Restaurant for 7 years so I have a good feel), and with that bit of freedom from expectations we enjoy it for the experience - especially sitting out on the patio! 50's Prime Time - We loved the food but we had such an in character CM that my wife does not want to go back as they crossed the line according to her - making a spectacle of her not eating all her veggies and bringing them back as a "Sundae".
You bring up some very good points.
So much entails a review. I am a foodie. I live to eat. I revel in my 3 meals a day. My wife, eats to live. crackers and cheese with a v8 is fine. THANK GOD I DO THE COOKING!!!!!!!
Our reviews will differ greatly.
Other things that can influence is where one grew up. My wife grew up with meat, taters, salt and pepper. I grew up with a mother who immigrated here from Germany and a father who was 1st generation American from Italian immigrants. He used to joke that our family came over to America on the Pan Am.
I grew up with a decidedly European palette.
Their experiences and influences will guide how we review food. Meatloaf is a great example in my family. To my wife its ground beef, salt, pepper, bread crumbs eggs and Ketchup on top.
To me, it is ground beef, ground pork, ground veal, salt pepper, rosemary, thyme, garlic, onion, tomatoes........
I will always take a review more to heart if I know the perspective of who gives it. When I say The 50's Cafe meatloaf is the best I have ever had, and my wife says, it was just okay, I know why we came to those conclusions.

Reading through the posts on this thread had me thinking of a good answer to how to navigate reviews. To be honest, one person shares their experience, whether good or bad,and it gets everyone talking. If more than a “few” people have the same thoughts in the restaurant, as me....I feel pretty good. Sometimes it’s just that the waitstaff was having an off day or maybe it’s just I was having an off day. But, many of the table service restaurant are pricey and I like to read and glean as much info as possible (the good, the bad, the ugly) before spending a lot of money on a large group. But these reviews offer a good starting place for discussion.
