There has been rumors for awhile that La Nouba by Cirque du Soleil will be closed. A couple of months ago, Disney Parks Blog confirmed the rumor that La Nouba's last performance will be December 31, 2017. There hasn't been any confirmed replacement yet but rumors are the next show might be another Cirque du Soleil show.
What are you thoughts? Glad to see it go? Will it be missed?
Personally, I have been the show twice since it first started in 1998. My wife and I greatly enjoy the performances but it is not something you do on every visit. I would like to see a new Cirque du Soleil show to go in there to match the new changes to Disney Springs. I also think a new show would bring more excitement back to the West End of Disney Springs.
Prior: Offsite most every other years from 1972 - 2000
Most recent: Offsite 2001 & 2003 / ASM 2006 / Offsite 2009 / Poly 2011 / POR 2013 / CR 2014 / GF 2015 / DS Hotel 2017 / BC 2017 / POR 2018
I am not bothered much by this either way. We never saw it, and it never really interested my family.
The only thought I have is I hope that a replacement comes in quickly, I would hate to see all the hard work they have been putting into Disney Springs have the blemish of the empty show building anchoring part of the property.

I am disappointed because it was on our to-do list and we probably will not be making the trip before the closing date, so I do hope another Cirque is in the works........or we could just go sooner! I like option #2!

News is starting to develop about what will be replacing La Nouba. Disney Parks Blog announced today that a new Cirque du Soleil will be coming to Disney Springs.
The articles states that "this original show will be created by Cirque du Soleil and will pay homage to Disney’s rich history of animation, with a vivid story told in a way that only Cirque du Soleil can deliver. Daniel Lamarre, President and CEO of Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group, elaborated, sharing “We are incredibly inspired by Disney’s immense creative universe. We are convinced that bringing Disney’s magic to life on stage will touch audiences and bring them back to their childhood.”"
D23 announced that Walt Disney Imagineering, Walt Disney Animation Studios, and Cirque du Soleil are partnering to bring an incredible, first-of-its-kind show to Disney Springs. “This is destiny,” said Cirque du Soleil director Michel Laprise, who joined legendary Disney animator Eric Goldberg to announce the new show at D23.
So many of Disney’s most compelling and memorable experiences have come from blending different art forms, and this show promises to be no different. The team from Cirque du Soleil visited Disney parks, The Walt Disney Family Museum, the Walt Disney Archives, and Walt Disney Animation Studios to design the show. In addition to the breathtaking choreography and visuals Cirque du Soleil is known for, the new show will also feature music that integrates beloved Disney themes and music.
Goldberg teased a little about the story, which centers on a young girl whose father is a Disney animator who finds a way to send his daughter on a magical journey of self-discovery through a world of animation. The story is very personal to Goldberg, whose own children grew up surrounded by Disney animation, and he is thrilled to part of this exciting new show. “I admire how the team really came to us and tried to understand what we do, how we do it, and really what makes Disney animation special and unique,” he said. Previews are set to begin March 20, 2020, leading up to the world premiere of the new show on April 17.
