Mike, as Peter Pan, I don't wanna grow up either.....but it's become something I find I do need....Too many changes in the world these days and I finally gave up my flip phone years ago and moved into a smart phone and iPad now too.....I just find now that I truly DO need it....think your daughter probably could go around this subject with you......
I understand what you are telling me, I just didn't tell you of my vision problems which is why I'm done working. I can't make out the small screens and I have enough problems walking without carrying a desk top computer. lol
Did you know some of the new smartphones (iPhone &s or Galaxy s7) can have the apps and numbers enlarged to those with slight sight challenges??

I have the Droid Turbo 2 and I went into settings and changed all the font to xlarge. So, I don't need my glasses to see it.đ
The app makes life so much easier, while navigating the parks. My daughter keeps phone close and constantly checks wait times and maps. It helps us "add on" shows or rides that we think we don't have time for, but actually do.
The thought of ordering food with one is awesome, too! Kind of like when we pre order our BOG quick service meal!

who knows the change may be coming sooner than I knew. Our son is thinking of a new phone and may add my wife on his contract. As for me, nobody calls me except wrong numbers. LOL And if my wife Libby has a smart phone and I'm always with her, we only need one.

My wife and I used to have her mom and my mom on our plan under one of my brother-in-laws decided to pick up his mom instead of us.

Mike I agree with that as I am sure Libby will continue to take very good care of you....leaving you just to answer wrong numbers

Just updated the My Disney Experience app on my phone last night- few new features:
- Renew Annual Passes - View remaining meal plan entitlements (no more looking at the receipts) - View room billing for charging to the Magic Band
Seems like they are starting to add some more useful stuff. I am still waiting on the timing for Disney Transport, but I will take what they are giving with recent enhancements.
Disney is always updating the My Disney Experience mobile app to help provide the most information about the parks and to allow the guests to do more with the app. Just earlier this year, I reported on the ability to use the app to unlock your resort room door. This aspect of the app is currently only available for those staying at Disney's Wilderness Lodge.
One of the newest features that will be added to future app updates will be the ability to see the "Bus Arrival Times" from the resorts. You will need to have an active resort reservation in order to see the bus times option. From your âMy Reservationâ screen, youâll tap the âSee Bus Timesâ icon to access the bus arrival times.
This will then bring you to the âNext Bus Timesâ screen, where it shows the departure location (presumably your current location), and the estimated arrival time of the next bus to each of the theme parks.

For destinations where the bus time is not available (due to a glitch in the system or something similar), the time will just say âEvery 20 Minutes.â For destinations that do not have a direct bus route from your location, the app will tell you where to go to transfer to another bus for your desired destination. Buses to Disney Springs are also included in the app, just like on the screens at the bus stops at the resort.

And note there is the usual disclaimer that times are subject to change.
In the previous post from April 19, 2018, I reported on a future update to the My Disney Experience app that would allow you to view bus arrival times. Well......
Today, Disney Parks Blog announced the rolling out a brand new bus time feature in the My Disney Experience mobile app that enables guests to spend less time waiting at the bus stop and more time getting ready for a fun-filled day in the parks. With this feature, guests can quickly discover up-to-the-minute estimates for when the next buses will depart from their Disney Resort hotel and when they will complete their journey to their destination.
The app regularly updates in real time to provide the most current estimates for buses heading to all four theme parks, two water parks and the Disney Springs area. Guests can access the feature throughout their stay by tapping âSee Bus Timesâ when viewing an active Disney Resort hotel reservation associated with their account.

You may also notice that this My Disney Experience update brings a new and improved design to the app, making it easier than ever to navigate and find what youâre looking for â from the new bus time feature and mobile food ordering service to adding tickets, booking FastPass+ selections and discovering key park offerings.
This is just the most recent example of how Disney is using digital technology to make the guest experience even more convenient. During the past year alone, we have added app features that allow guests to view room charges, keep track of Disney dining plan usage, check in online to start their vacation even faster, use their mobile devices as a digital key (now available at Disneyâs Wilderness Lodge and coming soon to additional Disney Resort hotels) and more.
Guests can explore all thatâs new in My Disney Experience by updating to the current version of the app, now available in the Apple Store for iOS devices and Google Play for Android devices.
First hand report on the bus times for the app- most useful addition to the app in some time. They were very accurate and kept in time with the bus boards at the resorts. This made planning to leave the room for the parks so much easier!
If youâre in the parks and looking to keep your hands as clean as possible, you can now locate Hand Sanitizer Locations throughout the parks as well as information centers on Coronavirus (COVID-19) at various First Aid Centers throughout Walt Disney World.
A quick search for âCoronavirusâ on the My Disney Experience app will lead you to the two points of interest.
From there, you can get directions to the nearest Hand Sanitizer Location, or find a First Aid Center where you can also get any questions answered by a Cast Member on the medical team. As part of the parkâs commitment to the health and wellness of their guests and Cast Members, they offer complimentary hand sanitizer and basic first-aid services at all parks.
A number of extra Hand Sanitizer Locations and hand-washing stations have been added throughout all of the parks as a part of increased health and safety measures in light of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Looking for something Disney to do at home while the parks closed then check out some of the new notifications and featurettes in the Disneyland or MyDisneyExperience mobile apps recently â like the Disney Parks Artist Studio or Magic Moments in History, where you can learn how to draw your favorite Disney characters like Mickey Mouse, discover fun facts about Disney Parks, or play games and trivia through the Play Disney Parks mobile app. Now, thereâs even more to come from these series and others within the Disneyland or MyDisneyExperience app â and they can all be enjoyed from home! From fun recipes inspired by Disney Parks foods and animated stories, to highlights from your favorite shows and parades, PhotoPass wallpapers and more, there are videos, games and fun facts on the way, bringing some Disney Parks magic to you. In the coming weeks, youâll even be able to enjoy the Jungle Cruise joke-of-the-day or experience Wilderness Explorers at home through a series of short-form videos, too.
To discover new features like these, users simply need to be logged into either (or both) of the apps and have push notifications turned on.
Whether youâre learning to make frozen pineapple treats or how to draw the famed feathered friends from Walt Disneyâs Enchanted Tiki Room, there will be something for everyone to enjoy!
If you havenât already, be sure to download the Disneyland or MyDisneyExperience apps from the App Store or Google Play to check out new videos and episodes in these series and more.
There is always putting watching a Disney movie, we watched saving Mr. Banks again...âŚ...it's amazing how you pick more up from the movie the more you watch it. Not to mention the enjoyment to watching the Disney cartoon movies, Snow White, Lady and the Tramp, etc. So nice to get away from the world for awhile.
