I do love a parade! We usually just hang out wherever we happen to be to watch a parade and it usually works out fine, but wondering if folks might share tips and/or favorite spots to view MK parades.
Because of your parade question and today being Memorial Day I must say " We can't all be hero's because someone has to sit on the curb and clap as they go by" This was a Will Rogers saying. And I know Memorial Day is for the soldiers who died not the living hero's. We used to sit on the main street curb, front row but you need to get it at least an hour earlier.

Gus with the remodeled area of the lawn space in front of the castle this has opened up a huge area to view from.....I've been on both the right and left side and depending on the sun I would say both had good spots plus was able to leave my grandson sitting in his stroller on the grass and not feel like he's in the way
second star to the right and straight on till morning

We tend to hangout in Adventureland across from Pecos Bill and the entrance to Splash Mountain. This is where the parades start from. Usually not too many people and our thought is...see it early and move on to ride while everyone else is still watching it. We avoid anywhere around the hub and Main Street
Prior: Offsite most every other years from 1972 - 2000
Most recent: Offsite 2001 & 2003 / ASM 2006 / Offsite 2009 / Poly 2011 / POR 2013 / CR 2014 / GF 2015 / DS Hotel 2017 / BC 2017 / POR 2018

When my kids were little that was "our spot" also and we could move onto another ride turning around and walking back to Pirates....it was a good exit strategy point.

There are also many people that don't know where the parades start from so even these days when the park is much busier than it was in the 70's-90's, this area to watch the parades is still not as crowded as it is on Main Street.

I totally agree.....there are so many places to see the parades from now!

One night many years ago, my oldest daughter and I went back to the MK after bringing my wife and younger children back to the room (Disney Inn).
We didn't bother with the night parade and did splash mountain and thunder mountain over and over again with no lines while everyone was watching the parade. We saw the fireworks over the castle from the Splash Mountain ride (fantastic view) and then ran to Space Mountain. Once again got off the ride and ran all the way to the top to do it over again. We actually took the last spaceship down, cast members were giving us high fives on our last couple of rides.
Unfortunately for guest today, those days are over with the increased crowds, for me, memories are very important.

I again love the old names you throw around. For those of you that don't remember, Disney Inn was originally opened in 1973 as The Golf Resort and then renamed to Disney Inn in 1986. Since then, the Disney Inn was bought by the U.S Government and renamed Shades of Green in 1996.

The only "Parade" that I watch is the Electrical Water Pageant- and that is accomplished on the white sand beaches of the Polynesian - usually with a drink in hand.
My spot is also in front of Pecos... by the second bridge. There's a nice shade there, and I always book a FP for splash mountain around 2pm, so we can be as cool as possible while waiting...
BUT, having said that, on a not so sunny and crowded day, the hub gives you an amazing view with the castle, the parade actualy last longer cause you get to see it go all around it...
