1) I have gotten a reservation here every time I have tried as long as I am 180 days out. Maybe I have been lucky but so far so good.
2) No comment here as we don't do character meals....well we did The Garden Grill one time
3) I completely agree but Victoria & Albert's is ABSOLUTELY worth it. As for California Grill, the only time I have been there was with a large group and we had no problem getting a table.
4) It is difficult to get so just be flexible with the day you are looking for.
5) The one time we wanted to eat at 'Ohana, we got the time we wanted and the table we wanted but that was 6 years ago. I was told then that if we wanted a window seat for the fireworks to arrive about an hour before your reservation time which allows them time to get your table for you. We did that (as it was for my birthday) and within 20 minutes, they called us to the table. Again for California Grill, we have only been there one time (but had been there when it was called Top of The World) and probably won't go back. It was too loud for the experience we were expecting. As for the fireworks, even if you aren't dining during the exact time of the fireworks and as long as you dining there during that day, they will allow you back up to view the fireworks from the balacony or lounge. That is what we did as we got done dining about 45 minutes to the fireworks happening.

So far, I've only known Be our guest for breakfast. The place is gorgeous, too beautiful even for WDW standards. We don't eat too much for breakfast so I can't say anything about the food, though they feed me so many vegan options I was actualy impressed (and full)
When they do a Quick service I will have a lot more input!
PS: I always thought that THE fireworks experience was California Grill because of the view
1) BoG does not do much for our family...we much prefer Ohana for dinner
2) Character Meals Totally agree with these: •Chef Mickey's •Cinderella's Royal Table As much as we love Pooh Bear we are not blown away by: •Crystal Palace We love Garden Grill, but not as much for the characters. The one I am shocked that's missing is the Tusker House Breakfast - it is always amazing!
3) Premium Dining Experience These are TBD - once my wife and I get a few solo trips we will be knocking these off, but currently our trips are to keep the whole family happy, and my son is not a foodie.
4) Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue On our list, but it has to be better than the Spirit of Aloha - we liked it but were not blown away like we had hoped.
5) Popular Fireworks Dining Experience Ohana! Love the Poly, food and view!
Although truth be told- I do not equate fireworks with a meal - Drinks in the Top of the World Lounge -Yes S'mores on the Poly Beach -Yes Drinks on the Patio of my Lakeview room at the Poly - Yes Fine dining and explosions - not the best of matches (at least to us).
4) Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue On our list, but it has to be better than the Spirit of Aloha - we liked it but were not blown away like we had hoped.
That is a difficult comparison since they are both really good shows but two totally different styles.
Disney's Spirit of Aloha is a very typical touristy aloha show. Really really good when compared to the ones around Hawai'i. It has all the typical entertainment you would expect to see in a aloha from the multiple Polynesian countries and cultures.
On the other hand, Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is completely different but just as entertaining. This show is Western-themed compared to Island-themed and the food reflects that. Here you would dine on baked beans, fried chicken, BBQ ribs, corn-on-the-cob and strawberry shortcake. This show also has a lot more crowd participation then the Spirit of Aloha....the performers mingle with the guests, they might even try to get you sing-along, and sometimes the servers join in too (similar to Whispering Canyon). According to Tripadvisor, Hoop-Dee-Doo gets 4.5/5 out of 1934 reviews and is #7 out of 71 for shows in Orlando while Spirit of Aloha get 3.5/5 out of 713 reviews and is #23 out of 71 for shows in Orlando
This was a bit tricky for me because I had to keep reminding myself that it was reporting the most popular according to how hard it is to get a reservation, and not necessarily the best.
1. Enjoyed lunch at BOG. Food was good, but atmosphere was amazing!! I think this will stay popular because many have still not experienced it and want to check it out...and should! However, MY #1 would be 'Ohana or Boma!
2. Chef Mickey's was certainly fun, but we loved the characters, experience and food at Garden Grill, Tusker House and 1900 Park Fare even more!
