Yesterday was the last and final ride for two long running rides and both have already been removed from WDW's website.
In Epcot, Ellen's Energy Adventure shut down last night for ever to make room for the Guardian of the Galaxy ride. Visit the thread "Guardian of the Galaxy" to learn more about this new (and hopefully exciting) new ride.
In Hollywood Studios, The Great Ride shut down as well last night for the new Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway which was announced at this year's D23 Expo as the new ride to occupy that space. Here is a video of that very last car ride courtesy of WDW News Today.
And here are pictures of the signs around the Chinese Theater (courtesy of Blog Mickey):
we are going to miss these, especially Ellen's Energy Adventure. It was always a nice place to get out of the heat for a while and My oldest granddaughter loves dinosaurs. Every time we saw the show I thought of her and how she would enjoy it. We tried to get them to Disney and pay the way when I was working, Daughter won't fly and son in law won't drive that far.

That's too bad Mike....Milo and I made it to both rides for one last excursion on both.....he said he was REALLY sad about the GMR until I said it would be Mickey and Roadster Racers and then he cheered up....he loves it on Disney Junior

I don't get the reference to Mickey and Roadster Racers as there appears to be NO connection between "Mickey and Roadster Racers" and "Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway" as there are not one in the same.
The ride will be themed upon the Mickey Mouse shorts shown on Disney Channel, and will be the first Mickey-themed ride-through attraction in the history of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.
"At the beginning of the ride, guests will be invited to watch the premiere of a new Mickey Mouse cartoon, in which Mickey and Minnie Mouse prepare for a picnic outing and encounter Goofy conducting a train. According to Imagineer Kevin Rafferty, guests will then pass through a simulated movie screen (as in the 2013 short Get a Horse!) where they will experience a “zippy zany out-of-control adventure”. Guests will then be transported into the cartoon and aboard Goofy's train, which takes them on a wild adventure. The ride is described as "2 and 1⁄2 D" since no 3D glasses would be needed for the ride. It will also include more hidden Mickeys than any existing ride."
Prior: Offsite most every other years from 1972 - 2000
Most recent: Offsite 2001 & 2003 / ASM 2006 / Offsite 2009 / Poly 2011 / POR 2013 / CR 2014 / GF 2015 / DS Hotel 2017 / BC 2017 / POR 2018

Just read that Stitch's escape in Tomorrow Land will close for good in 3 days. Can't say I am upset, I never understood how they brought him into the MK. Hope the replacement is good.
Wonders of Flight closed this past weekend to be replaced by PIXAR "Up" bird show.
Yes, Circle is Life Show is closing forever on February 3, 2018. Circle of Life has been running for almost 22 years now. Disney Performing Arts, which currently holds workshops and performances in a trailer located between the Germany and Italy pavilions in World Showcase, will take over the space shortly after the closure for student workshops and performances beginning February 9, 2018.
Yes, Stitch's Great Escape closed. To some people, this attraction has been listed as one of the worse attractions in all of WDW history. It really wasn't even a new attraction but a revamp on the Alien Encounter attraction.
Thanks for your update Rich, as for Wonders of Flight, are you talking the show in Animal Kingdom? We enjoyed that show and will miss it if that is gone. can only hope the new one is just as good or better, time will tell.

The one and only...that is the only Wonders of Flight in WDW.

Just read that the current Pirates of the Caribbean ride in the MK will close on February 26 to replace the auction scene. They are keeping the "red head" but she will become a Pirate.

Mike, that subject and comments are covered under the thread...."Wench Auction" gone
The Mickey shorts that are reference in this thread are the new “edgy” Mickey and Minnie cartoons. They are funny but you either “love them or hate them”. It makes sense that a crazy racing type roller coaster would be associated with these shorts.
