If you are a baseball fan and especially an Atlanta Braves fan, then this information is for you.
As most of you probably already know, the Atlanta Braves have been using Disney’s Champion Stadium at the ESPN Wide World of Sports ever since the complex opened in 1997 as their Spring Training facility. Well, it was announced yesterday that the Atlanta Braves are not renewing their contract and will be leaving the ESPN complex after the 2018 Spring Training. The Atlanta Braves will be leaving for a new stadium in Sarasota, Florida which will closer to the other teams in the Grapefruit League.
This rumor was first reported by MLB writer David O’ Brien in January 2017 but was confirmed Sunday by WDW News Today.

It is a shame when anything or anyone leaves Disney. They may actually be further away from some (Mets). I always wanted to see a Spring Training game there but we never had the chance.

Here is an update on the subject of the Braves moving out of Champion Stadium at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex as of earlier this week:
MLB Atlanta Braves will not be moving out of Walt Disney World after the end of the 2018 Grapefruit League season.
The Braves, who are currently building their new spring training facilities in Sarasota County, will be staying at Champion Stadium in ESPN’s Wide World of Sports complex through April 2019, as first reported by the Orlando Sentinel.
The final 2019 Spring Training game will be played in the Braves’ new stadium, according to a news release by Disney and the team. The new complex in North Port will officially open in April 2019, coinciding with the team’s Florida operations moving in then.
The Braves have held their Spring Training at Champion Stadium since 1998, and 2020 will be the first full season for the team in Sarasota County. As of now, no future tennant for the stadium has been announced. With all current teams in the Grapefruit League already settled in other parts of Florida, the future of Champion Stadium is unknown.

Nice to know they will be there for a little while.
This past Friday, Spring Training opened at Disney for the last time. Below is the article I found on Disney Parks Blog talking about this final year of training.
Baseball fans visiting Walt Disney World Resort over the next five weeks will be able to experience the magic of the game up close as the Atlanta Braves hold their final spring training season at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Pitchers and catchers report Feb. 15, and the team will be at Walt Disney World through its final spring training game at Champion Stadium, a March 23 matchup with the New York Mets.
One of the surprise teams in all of Major League Baseball in 2018, the Braves will hold their spring training for the 22nd and final season this year. The club is moving its spring training operations to Sarasota County (North Port, Fla.) in 2020.
This year, baseball fans visiting Disney will have one last opportunity to take in some spring training action as several of MLB’s marquee teams – the Houston Astros, New York Yankees and St. Louis Cardinals – are scheduled to battle the Braves, winners of the 2018 National League East.
Atlanta’s first home spring training game is set for Monday, Feb. 25, when the club hosts the Washington Nationals at 1:05 p.m. at Champion Stadium. Additionally, the Braves will play two games against the power-hitting Astros (March 4, 17), and will play one game against the vaunted Yankees (March 18).
Other top teams scheduled to battle the Braves this spring include the Tampa Bay Rays, Toronto Blue Jays, Philadelphia Phillies, Detroit Tigers and the Miami Marlins. Atlanta’s 16-game home spring training schedule also includes three night games (all beginning at 6:05 p.m.).
The Braves will play their final spring training game at Disney Saturday, March 23, at 1:05 p.m. against the New York Mets.
