It was announced yesterday that Captain's Grill Disney's Yacht Club Resort closed permanently. It was already being held temporarily in Ariel's while the old location was under refurbishment. While the refurbishment was going on, it was decided to change the name of the restaurant and lounge. So, when the restaurant reopens later this month, it will be called Ale & Compass Restaurant to match the Ale & Compass Lounge and the (recently opened) Market at Ale & Compass.
Prior: Offsite most every other years from 1972 - 2000

I just checked the menu items, maybe it's me, but I hope they change the menu and prices. It was better as the Captains Grill, don't think we will even try it at this time. This was a nice place to have the last breakfast on the last day waiting to go home.

I looked at the two menus but unfortunately, I disagree with you.
Okay, so the prime rib is replaced with a t-bone and the crab cake is replaced with the clambake. That being said the prices are very comparable to what they were before. They still have a cheese platter (which is cheaper in Ale than was at Captain's), a chowder (just the type of chowder changed), a pasta dish, a chicken dish, seafood dishes, and a vegetarian dish.
I know a lot of people have said that Captain's Grille had "one of the best" prime ribs. So, I am said to see that go but other than that, I like the menu and think it is very similar to the previous menu in selections and price.

I can only comment on the breakfast we never had the lunch or dinner.
