Starting this past Sunday, Disney announced that some resorts will be "Dog-Friendly".
Four Walt Disney World Resort hotels have been designated dog friendly and each property’s per night/per room pet-cleaning rate is:
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort - $50/night
Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort - $50/night
Disney’s Yacht Club Resort - $75/night
Cabins at Disney’s Ft. Wilderness Resort - $50/night
Dog lovers will find plenty of Disney amenities and special touches for their four-legged friends:
At check-in, Pluto’s Welcome Kit includes mat, bowls, a pet ID tag, courtesy plastic disposable bags, puppy pads and dog walking maps. Also included: a Pluto “Do Not Disturb” door hanger indicating to hotel staff that a pet is in the room.
Disney enjoys a partnership with Best Friends Pet Care, an on-property full-service facility that can provide assistance with pet daycare and other pet services (fees apply).
Pet merchandise is coming soon to participating resorts.
While there are no in-room services available at this time, Best Friends Pet Care does provide services like doggie day care at its nearby facility on Disney property.
Hopefully dog lovers will abide by the policies to make it a successful program. I would not take my dog to Disney only because Victorian Bulldogs must be careful of the heat. The weather would have to be cool for her to be there.

This is an awesome idea. I would say that the rate is pricey, but when you understand that “accidents” do happen and sometimes, some pets bring friends....it is not bad at all. I would rather extra cost for extra cleaning, if I was going to do this (my pet is a cat and would rather stay at her Spa)!
I experienced the dogs and their disgusting owners not cleaning up after them in March 2018 at the Yacht Club. The area was full of crap, the heat made the smell unbreathable, rats were running around during the day and of course at night, (look it up dog shit attracts rodents).
We could not sit on the patio due to the smell of dog shit, they were pissing in the hallway, barking in the rooms. I had one actually growl at us while we walked past them. The smell was terrible at the Admiral pool and hot tub. the Walkway was disgusting. I watched one guest bring 2 dogs out the side door and let them mess at the patio of the room next door.
I complained to the front desk, told them to check the camera's which we all know they have and fine them. Of course nothing happened. We met other guests that were very unhappy spending all that money to smell dirty dogs. I told them to complain or nothing will come of it.
Worst of all our room must have had dogs prior to us, the chair was ripped and scratched, the desk chewed, bed legs chewed and they did nothing when I complained about it.
Now I see they either extended it or made it permanent for dogs.
My time at Disney will not continue if this is true, they really better confine them to a separate resort and not all resorts.
before someone starts complaining that I don't like animals, We are taking care of a dog that no one wanted when the owner had to give it up, it has been about 6 years now. we also adopted 2 cats that needed a home. We like animals and clean up after them immediately both inside the house (cats) and outside (dog), no smells or diseases to manifest.

There is NO excuse for people not to clean up after their dogs. Maybe Disney should build a hotel just for dogs. That way their owners can revel in the stench and filth away from everyone else. If this is what they do, I can only imagine the pig stye they must live in. I would never stay at the Yacht Club on the chance that I would have to deal with urine and feces. Absolutely disgusting!

I hit a wrong key and didn't post what I was going to. LOL
I was going to just say this is something I want to forget and hope others don't experience what I did. I agree about a hotel just for dogs.
