“Do Not Disturb”- We’re Off to Neverland!

Disney has started changing its “Do Not Disturb” door signs to “Off To Neverland” signs. The new sign displays a message saying that staff has the right to enter for well checks and security reasons. (From what I understand, they will only enter the room if the sign stays on the door for 24 hrs or more.). At this moment, the only resorts that have the new sign are the ones in the Monorail line. According to the CBS This Morning news report this is Disney’s response to the Vegas shooting and how to combat it happening at their resorts. Let’s face it, Disney has always had the right to enter a room with these reasons, they are just now letting the public know as a warning to would be criminals that their rooms can be entered.
There have been mixed emotions on the change. Some see it as a major privacy issue, where others are thankful for the added security. From what I understand, families are given the option to opt out of Mousekeeping service. (Only towel drop off and pick up service is needed). I have talked to families who don’t want the service because they don’t want strangers in their rooms cleaning and “going through things”. I personally enjoy not having to do housekeeping duties on vacation!
What are your thoughts on the “changing of the signs”?
