There are several articles out there that mention a test pilot of a cashless resort.
The Walt Disney World Resort will be testing a Cashless pilot program at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Jambo House starting February 12, 2018. During this test program, Jambo House will be the first location to only accept electronic payment for all purchases and services. Accepted electronic payment includes MagicBands, credit cards, debit cards, Disney gift cards, and Disney Rewards Redemption Cards as wells as Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Google Pay. However, the resort will continue to accept cash for tips and for deposit to activate hotel charging privileges. Guests that are staying at the resort with resort or dining reservations during this test period are being advised of the change.
Tell us what you think of this program...

I am on the fence with this one. For full disclosure - 98% of my trips are "cashless" using the magicband/gift cards/ Rewards redemption Cards etc, but....
I do not like having the option taken away from me - I would rather not charge or debit a $3 item because they will not accept cash- like when someone wants a drink or a small souvenier.
I would need to experience this to vote. But the issue I forsee will be with my son- he does not have a credit card (so no redemption card either), does not have the charging option on the magic band (maybe when he is old enough to drive?) - I would hate to see him "wasting" a snack credit on a bottled water because they will not take his cash....
Cash is also easy to track (as are gift cards) but when it is put it on the band- you can lose sight of things (especially at the pool bar)

I completely agree with you. I would have to see or experience it to fully give an opinion.
Cash is the one payment that I consider ALWAYS acceptable. Checks bounce.....credit cards decline....but cash always accepted.
