Since Disney had announced that the new Toy Story Land will open June 30, 2018, they updated their July 2018 calendar to include this. Disney has also made some changes to the July 2018 calendar.
The day the new Toy Story Land opens (June 30th), Disney's Hollywood Studios will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.. After that, the park will be opening daily for morning Extra Magic Hours from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and the rest of Disney's Hollywood Studios will be opening from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.. Through the month of July 2018, Disney's Hollywood Studios will also be having evening Extra Magic Hours on Fridays from 10:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m..
During the month of July 2018, this will make Disney's Hollywood Studios the longest hours of operation of the four theme parks.
This isn’t the first time Disney apply daily Extra Magic Hours to a theme park due to a new land opening. Last summer, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park opened an additional two hours of Extra Magic Hours nightly due to the opening of Pandora – The World of Avatar.
Extra Magic Hours are additional operating hours for guests staying on property of The Walt Disney World Resort.
Disney announced last month that they will be replacing Extra Magic Hours with a new offering to guests called Resort Guest Early Entry. Extra Magic Hours allowed Disney Resort guests to enter any one of the Walt Disney World theme parks 30-minutes before the general public. Resort Guest Early Entry will be offered every day of the week for all four Walt Disney World theme parks.
Here’s what Disney said about the new offering:
We know how much guests enjoy extra park time, so coming later this year as part of our 50th anniversary celebration, Disney Resort hotel guests and guests of other select hotels will be able to enjoy more fun with 30-minute early entry to ANY theme park, EVERY day. It’ll be a great way to get a jump start on your Disney day, no matter the day! As a reminder, the Extra Magic Hours benefit was suspended when Walt Disney World Resort reopened last summer, and as we continue to manage attendance with health and safety top of mind, Extra Magic Hours will not return. The new early theme park entry benefit helps us better spread visitation across all four theme parks, while providing added flexibility by giving guests extra early park time on each day of their vacation and in the park of their choosing. Please note that guests need valid admission and a park reservation made via the Disney Park Pass system to enter a theme park.
