WDW News Today reports that construction has officially begun on the “Zootopia”-themed land coming to Shanghai Disneyland, and it appears some special art has popped up on construction walls lining the project boundaries.
The “City of Zootopia” logo matches the silhouette of the land and cityscape as shown in the concept art:
In the land, guests will be invited to experience the mammalian metropolis of Zootopia “where anyone can be anything,” with a new major attraction that will seamlessly blend Disney storytelling and state-of-the-art technology to bring this fan-favorite movie and its characters to life – including Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde.
The land will be the park’s eighth themed land and the first-ever “Zootopia”-themed land at any Disney park. This project marks the second major expansion of Shanghai Disney Resort since the resort opened in 2016.
While no official opening date has been announced for the land, with construction officially underway.
On the heels of D23 Expo 2019, Disney has released a new rendering of the Zootopia-themed land coming to Shanghai Disneyland.
Disney reports that "The “Zootopia”-themed land coming to Shanghai Disney Resort will feature new entertainment, merchandise and dining options that can only be found in the land along with a new major attraction that blends storytelling and state-of-the-art technology."
