We have decided to help the kiddos countdown our days until Disney, to countdown to each holiday in between. We actually get to Disney on Easter Sunday. (This should be interesting!) What are some visual ways you help your children count down to the big day?
"Life is a journey to be experienced, not a problem to be solved." — Pooh, Winnie the Pooh
Pull every recorded movie that you have in a case that pertains to a disney ride. Example: Mr Toads Wild Ride, Winnie the Pooh, Alice in Wonderland etc. Let us say you have 20 movies total. Stack next to tv. Dont rent them, dont watch on netflix, just the ones you have.
Every night, watch a movie and put it away When you have watched the last movie, you are going to the parks the next day. This does a couple things.
It engages the young ones anticipation keeping the event in the forefront of their mind
It reminds them of the movies so when they ride the rides, they can associate the ride with the movie
It gives them a tangible measure of how long until the trip by watching the stack dwindle in size

My daughter loved this.
Guess I'd have to first pull out all my Disney movies and see just how many I have and then count backwards with a map.....might be more challenging than just making a calendar!
second star to the right and straight on till morning

A bit confusing but out of the list there that are movies I have 17..,,,,I didn't realize there were that many movies to rides....BUT I have 144 Disney movies in total

Shoot Doc,That's just Magic Kingdom. Then there's Indiana Jones(all of them),Tomorrowland, Finding Nemo, A Bugs Life, and more
Absolutely, I just started with MK and see how that went before discussing the other parks. The movie Tomorrowland was already covered in the discussing the rides as MK.
I guess I need to make a list for all over WDW.
