In August 2018, Disney had announced that a new Wi-Fi Network was being installed at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter. The announcement states that Disney is always looking to improve the experience of both their cast members and their guests, and one part of that is enhancing or separating the Wi-Fi that is used at the resorts. The new Wi-Fi at French Quarter is called “WDW Resorts Guest” and should have a much better connection as it will be targeted specifically to Guests staying at the resorts. This will bring the name of the Wi-Fi network in line with all the other ones at other resorts. Previously it would be a name such as “WLAN-TWDC” and for a company like Disney who prides on a consistent guest experience, this is a step in the right direction.
Then in March 2019, Disney added this new Wi-Fi network to Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort. The upgrade brings higher speeds to all public areas at the resort, as well as guest rooms in Buildings 6–10. In addition, guests using the Wi-Fi in public spaces at the resort can now find it under the name “WDW Resorts Guest,” selecting to connect and then accepting the terms and conditions.
Then in April 2019, Disney added this new Wi-Fi- network to Disney's Wilderness Lodge.
Today, July 8, 2019, Disney announced that guests staying at Disney’s Beach Club Resort should be advised that first-floor rooms will be closed for more than two weeks as part of a refurbishment project. The refurbishment, running from Monday, July 8th, to Tuesday, July 23rd, will include an upgrade to the in-room Wi-Fi, continuing the current trend that’s already taken place at other Walt Disney World Resort hotels.
