Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' will start serving Sunday Brunch on June 10, 2018. The menu has not been released yet but as soon as I can find it, I will post it on here.

There has been rumor circulating that Bongo's Cuban Cafe at Disney Springs was going to close. Well, it is not a rumor no more and the restaurant is now officially set to close in August when the 22-year lease on the restaurant comes to an end according to owner Gloria Estefan.
Estefan said the following in a statement to the Orlando Sentinel:
“They are growing in a different direction, and we are growing in a different direction. So we thought a fresh start is wanted.”
Disney has yet to announce the closure or any sort of replacement for Bongos on the West Side of Disney Springs.
Gloria Estefan and her husband, Emilio, are opening the second location for the Estefan Kitchen brand at the Sunset Walk shopping and dining district at the newly opened Margaritaville property on U.S. Highway 192 west of Interstate 4. This will fill the couple’s Orlando restaurant void once Bongos is closed.

my wife and I ate there when we first purchased the dining plan years ago, food was delicious. the surprise was the bill, since they were not part of the dinning plan. We learned a valuable lesson that day, ask if they are part of the dining plan before ordering. lol

My family ate there several years ago and they were part of the dining plan then. You shouldn't have to ask if they are part of the dining plan since all the restaurants that are on the dining plan on posted on the app and website. For those who don't use the app or website, all the restaurants that are on the dining plan are also posted in the brochure about the dining plan at each resort lobby.
There is a new restaurant coming to Disney Springs. It is called Beatrix and is described as your neighborhood restaurant, coffeehouse and grab-and-go market featuring healthy food options including vegetarian, gluten-free, and vegan along with fresh-squeezed juice cocktails. The restaurant will also offer a bakery and full-service bar with a selection of all-American beer and wine.
This new restaurant is set to take the place of Bongos Cuban Cafe at Disney Springs’ West Side.
Beatrix, owned by Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises (a Chicago-based restaurant group), will open their first restaurant in Florida at Disney Springs West Side. Executive Partner and Divisional President, Marc Jacobs, explains “Beatrix represents the way people are eating today – it’s that mix of health and comfort. Whether grabbing a cup of coffee and your favorite pastry, or having a cocktail, lunch, or dinner with friends, it’s your neighborhood meeting place.”
Bongos Cuban Cafe will official close on Sunday August 18, 2019.
Disney has already announced the replacement for Bongos in Beatrix, a neighborhood restaurant, coffeehouse and grab-and-go market. Gloria and Emilio Estefan are opening Estefan Kitchen at Margaritaville Resort Orlando, the spiritual successor to Bongo’s.
