According to DVC News, there is price increase coming to some of the sold-out resort. Even though these resorts are "sold-out", one can still find points for these resorts.
Here is what DVC News is reporting:
"According to one source, prices may rise between $5 per point, for Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, to $20 per point at Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel.
Meanwhile a DVCNews sponsor has heard that some locations may rise up to $50 per point. No formal announcement has been made. The new rates are expected to be in place before the end of October.
Disney Vacation Club reacquires a modest amount of points at older properties via foreclosures and by exercising Right of First Refusal on resale transfers. These points are most commonly sold to existing members who wish to add to their ownership. DVC will sell add-on contracts with as few as 25 points to a current owner.
Interested buyers may wish to contact DVC to inquire about resort availability before the price increase occurs. However the relative scarcity of points at many locations often means that DVC does not have points readily available to sell."
