We almost canceled our last vacation which was February 23 to March 5, 2020 due to all the news about the corona virus before they knew it was already here.
Our Resort was the Beach Club this time with easy access to EPCOT.
We decided to go regardless and enjoy life. Looking back, we are thankful we went to enjoy WDW the way it was, I'm sure from now on, it will be totally different.
The following week they closed WDW.
I would like to say we had a relaxing time, this was not the case, every night we listened to the news and the virus was getting worse, Florida Governor issued a state of emergency with only 3 cases in Tampa. We worried flights would not be operating to take us back home (NY) into the worst place in the country which no one knew at that time. We also didn't do many rides and were always washing our hands more than usual and to our surprise so were the other guests. Some times we had to wait in line just to get to the sink in the restrooms. It was reported that the flu actually decreased drastically and they say it was because people learned to wash.
We meet some wonderful people during this vacation, a farmer from Southern NJ, a family of 10 from the UK who just got in on our last day.
And we had our usual friends that worked at WDW, and friends who we were going to miss by a few days.
Now after over 2 months being inside our house we are so grateful that we took that vacation. So far we are doing well, not so for so many people around us including family.
Oh to redo that last vacation once again just to be there.
I hope everyone reading this can relate with their last vacation.
