My wife and I went a few years back and greatly enjoyed our time there. As being somewhat regulars at WDW, we were constantly comparing DLR to WDW. We totally love the fresh Mission shells that came from Mission Tortilla Factory at California Adventure but I understand that has closed and become Ghirardelli's Fountain Soda Shop. It sounds funny but that was the BEST tortilla shells we have ever had. We want to go back as Cars-Land would be new.
The being said, if you have been to both DLR and WDW, what do you like better about DLR or WDW?
We liked the feel and experience of New Orleans Square, which is Adventureland at WDW
Prior: Offsite most every other years from 1972 - 2000
Most recent: Offsite 2001 & 2003 / ASM 2006 / Offsite 2009 / Poly 2011 / POR 2013 / CR 2014 / GF 2015 / DS Hotel 2017 / BC 2017 / POR 2018

Well doc I suppose this is going to be a bit of a reach but I was in Disneyland in CA back in 1969..... but my cousin who started her animation career at Disney has told me over and over what I remember.....that CA is limited in size of the total property while FL owns so much land that can't even be utilized because of wetlands and can never expand to use it all....I do like the castle in CA better because it has an actual drawbridge which castles SHOULD have......but obviously I know tons more about FL so guess that's all I can say
second star to the right and straight on till morning

I totally agree with you about the land issue. I hear/heard lots of people getting things mixed up between DLR and WDW. I tell basically what you said. DLR is in the middle of city and therefore you have imagine DisneyLAND as a subdivision of Anaheim while WDW is like a complete city or WORLD onto itself that has everything from shopping to dining to camping to resorts to car rentals to bowling alley to small grocery stores (rumor has it that they are talking about making a bigger grocery store since they are adding more DVC properties).

There is a Publix very close.....if you go straight between Space Mtn (if you can visualize that) - and Bay Lake Tower there is a back road with a Publix on the left

It's possible....less than 49 minutes.....can you picture where I mean? Instead of turning right into BLT you just go straight....you will see Space Mtn off to the left and just keep going, Publix will be on the ledt

We stayed at a hotel looking at the Disneyland area. I asked John what it was and he said Disneyland,of course! It just didn't look that big. So, we plan on going back and checking it out.
