Bryan sorry to hear of your losses, I'm sure it still seems like yesterday.
About a month ago I gave Disney some ideas to implement for security and 1 idea that I stressed that they really need to look into implementing soon.
I don't like to mention it in case a crazy is reading but will when it's done and I will tell everyone that was my idea. They wanted to speak to me over this and we had a nice talk.
When my wife read the new changes for the MK she thought it was because of me. I told her no mine was for the entire World.
Thanks Mike- I would be very interested in hearing your security ideas when the time is right. I applaud you for taking the time to give your ideas.

Thanks Bryan, I think the new security at the MK was just too fast after I spoke with them to be part of my ideas, but it was a small part. I just want everyone to be safe and happy and that will be my reward.
I have no problem with the security measures and have no problem with everyone walking thru a metal detector. I don't see why anyone should feel the need to bring a gun into WDW. I understand that there are bad people out there wanting to do bad things. But, do we really want a person checking people into the park to make a hasty second choice on who is "worthy" to carry one in? I don't think so. I know this was a discussion on another site and just kinda bringing it up again here. Pretty serious discussion:

There is no need to bring a gun to WDW or DLR, I totally agree
Besides the obvious danger of having a gun on premises. Alcohol and guns don't mix.
Could you imagine if for some reason it dropped from a ride and discharged?
Now I doubt why would ever be able to prohibit anyone from bringing a gun to their hotel room, noone checks your luggage.
Come to think of it, a few years ago one of my buddies who lives in FL came to visit us at the WL ( he is a policeman) and he had his gun with him. We went to the pool and he placed his gun ( it had a lock on it) on one of the tables before he was getting ready to swim. My wife almost had a heart attack. He then went back and put it in his car.

Hotel rooms, etc are one thing. And, you are right about one careless move or accident could cause a horrible disaster. I think a lot of people have issues with the fact a conceal weapons permit or the right to bear arms, doesn't really translate well in a park. Not all security measures are foolproof. People will still try to carry things into the park they shouldn't and bad people will always be bad.
