This year, my family was fortunate enough to get everything on our FP wishlist and had plenty of time to do some "twicking" during the morning (and this is for the week after Easter). I know the times before, we had trouble getting everything and someone always missed a ride they wanted,if they didn't want to stand in line.
This morning became a tag team event, everyone who knew what they were doing, jumped on and grabbed coveted FPs. We had everything in place in 15 minutes and a few hours later, there was plenty of time slots to change up the order. So maybe this won't be as bad a week as we thought!
Our new strategy is tag teaming them. What is your process in getting your families favorite ride FP during vacation?

Ours is we each pick a ride and I do all the planning. I do our ADRs and try to frame the FP+ so walks are not hard to the rides.
Our family favorites are Carousel of Progress, Mickey's Philharmagic, People mover, Monsters Inc Laugh Floor, Spaceship Earth, Living with the land, Pixar/Disney shot film festival so we really are not in competition with others. We only need to Fastpass Seven Dwarves, Space Mountain, Test Track and Soarin. We change up others to ensure rides but there is not much we often need to grab.
We also try to grab them in the morning so we might be able to grab one later in the day after going back to the room for pool time.
Our plan is for us to discuss which rides we want for which days ahead of time and then when it is ready to get FP+, I just book them.
Since we typically spend 2 days at Epcot, we split up the popular rides. One day, do Soarin', Spaceship Earth, Mission: SPACE while on day two do Test Track, Living with the Land, and Journey Into Imagination with Figment.
For HS, we typically go during morning EMH and get Toy Story, Tower of Terror and Star Tours. When we get there early enough, we usually can ride Rock 'N' Roller Coaster before the line gets too long and have a chance to ride ToT before even using a FP+.
For AK, again we typically go during morning EMH and get Kilimanjaro Safaris, Expedition Everest and DINOSAUR. When we get there as the park opens, we usually can ride KS once with FP+ and once without and can ride EE once with FP+ and once without before the lists get too long.
For MK, we typically try to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, The Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean. If we want to change it up some, we might get Peter Pan's Flight, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train instead.

LOL...I didn't say we don't right Turtle Talk with Crush but just that we don't do a FP+ for it. We DO try ride it at least once a visit.

Turtle Talk is so funny, we did it for the first time last Sept. then again in December, it will be a regular for us now. Children are so funny and adorable. We take the back row to be out of the way for families that have children up front.
As for the fast pass + I know that they are still trying to work out the kinks to make it better, I will be sending my ideas this coming week. Everyone should give their suggestions, that is the only way they know improvements are needed.

Mike the more you use the FP+ arrangement the easier it gets....personally I think it's invaluable to have the MyDisneyExperience app on my phone.....if traffic is running late driving over I can rearrange our FP for the day before I even get into the park most times.....next trip down that I meet up with you I will try to show you some tricks

Cathie, I already sent my suggestions in, 1. is to be able to split up the fast passes amongst your group, ex. someone doesn't or cannot do a certain ride, right now my entire party books the same ride and maybe 2 use it. that is a waste of fast passes for us and others trying to book it but can't because there are too many for that time. 2. be able to split between parks, we do animal kingdom in the morning and only book one fast pass, we don't stay there all day, the next park we have no fast passes for because when you start in a park you have to finish there with fast passes.
If I'm doing something wrong, please tell me so I can correct this problem while booking.
Oh, we only have the old flip phone and seldom use it. We are a hold out from the old days. LOL

Hey disney mike, We do this often when we have a big group. When You select Fast Pass party only select the ones for that ride. Or you can always go back and modify fast passes. If that still doesn't get you right, goto a fast pass location like next to mouse gears in Epcot and a cast member will gladly fix it for you.

You get to chose who rides with a FP and what ride. As far as changing parks, I'm not sure how that would work. All that I have read on line is, no. But that was from 2 years ago.

I want to say no. But I have seen people with FP during EMH. These might have been acquired during that day thru a cast member. The rule is 3 have to be used before you make another. Again, see a cast member at a fp location.
