You're right. But I always think of the UK pavilion as being more England than anything else. Being part Scot, I would love to see it represented on its own. Maybe one day...
I'm from the Scottish McKinney Clan, BriarRose! I'm with you, would love to see more of a Scottish area, too!

LOL...no there is no World Showcase country coming to Epcot but now that I have your attention, what new country would you like to see? If you don't know, there are a total of 20 spots for countries and only 11 of those spots have been developed (not counting the Outpost). So, with that being said, which countries would you like to see filling the remaining 9 spots??
For me, I would like to see... Russia Switzerland Greece Brazil Australia / New Zealand Egypt India Spain Jamaica
I may not be objective with this one, but I think Argentina should be included. Most people don't know but Disney found here TWO major inspirations for his life work.
1) the forest in Bambi is in Argentina, it is called Bosque de Arrayanes (something like Myrtle wood) and there's even a little hut that you may recognize! He travelled to our south region to draw those particular and beautiful trees.
2) Republica de los niños (Children's republic) it's Latin America's first theme park. Walt himself visited this park, and if you look at the pictures, you may find the resamblance
So, I think we earned that spot! (and, you would love the food there!)
I would vote for that, too!

I would love to see: Scotland Spain Slovakia Australia Greece Russia
Scotland was part of Millennium Village. I agree I would like to see this but I think the only way that would happen would be if Scotland wins the vote of separating itself from the U.K. as Scotland (Ireland) is already presented by the pavilion U.K.
IMy geography is escaping me now, but The British Isles should be broken down into areas. And I might be wrong, but doesn't that include: Scotland, Southern Ireland, and Wales? They could be in the England area, but an "off shoot" of the the main country.

This is a great Post - because it lets us be creative- Thanks doc-
I think a good choice must be able to have a unique restaurant, good shopping ideas, a possible attraction and a movie topic worth seeing multiple times.
Ok I have had the luxury of living overseas 2 times for work, but traveling internationally for many years so I definitely have my favorites.
I am 3/4 Italian and 1/4 Scot - so I really liked the other posts about Scotland - its a great "country" with so many amazing things to see.
Australia - I feel there are food variations, cool experiences, creatures and an overall variety that could lead to a good restaurant , great shops and a good attraction. Or even a film about the Barrier Reef.
Singapore - I lived in Singapore for 2 years and as an American I must say none of us know much about that country. Fascinating culture and they have the money to create something very good. They have an amusement park in an area called Sentosa island and they have some very creative attractions.
Argentina - A wonderful country, with so much to offer, food, variety and a very unique blended culture. I loved visiting there for work, I wasn't a big fan of Brazil. Argentina had more to offer, I never felt unsafe, the country has so many great attributes. I could see some ride opportunities, shops and definitely a steak restaurant.( best beef in the world...)
I also thought about New Zealand - but it could possibly be combined with Australia ( though they are rivals)
I also thought about one of the Polynesian islands (Bali, Fiji. Lumbok...), but there is already a resort.
Africa is handled by Animal Kingdom, so that would be a conflict.
Switzerland - it is very different than Norway so I could see it having more than enough to handle the requirements. Food, ride possibilities ( Matterhorn plunge...) and a unique culture.
I really enjoy Epcot and the world showcase rocks, so I would love to see more !!!

I like your choices and your reasoning. I like your thoughts on Argentina as a new World Showcase country
Prior: Offsite most every other years from 1972 - 2000
Most recent: Offsite 2001 & 2003 / ASM 2006 / Offsite 2009 / Poly 2011 / POR 2013 / CR 2014 / GF 2015 / DS Hotel 2017 / BC 2017 / POR 2018

Greek food has too many parallels to Italian Egypt, India, too close to Morroco Many South American cuisines have similarities to Mexico
If I was to think about the food, I would think Spain, Jamaica, Russia. I wonder how much of Norwegian cuisine parallels Eastern Block
I agree. I'd like to see Spain, Jamaica, Russia for the food benefit and probably Ireland and Scotland. I think U.K. does a poor interpretation of Scotland and Ireland especially considering the vast U.S. population with that heritage. I know I don't consider the U.K in my Irish background. Just like many don't consider them in our American heritage.

You're totaly right, I am a vegan now, but I know because of y experience, we (and Uruguay as well) have the best meat in the world. We also make very different cuts so it's a very unique experience!
And I don't know if you had the chance to taste Dulce de Leche (somehing like Milk Caramel) which is something that I think could be a great hit there, cause you guys have no problem with strong sweet flavors!
Iwould love to hear your ideas for rides though... living here the only rides I can come up with are full buses and busy traffic...

I think something to do with Patagonia would be cool- a boat ride with giant creatures jumping out - Everyone loves the pumas, whales, even killer whales. Plus don't forget penguins. I took a tour down there and thought it was awesome.
I think there should be a "bobsled" ride in one of the "cooler" countries!!
They could make the Matterhorn Bobsled from DLR and put it Switzerland
Good idea-
Or maybe a ski lift that brings you across a flat screen that has scenery below, sort of like a Soarin but you move over the screen....So you are going over the mountains and valleys and you can see animals and people etc-
