Again, it is have been highly rumored that Brazil will be the next country added to Epcot during the expansion that is expected to occur between now and finish by 2022. From multiple sources it appears that Brazil will be located between Germany and Italy.
One question is....if Brazil does indeed go in between Germany and Italy, what will happen to the miniature train display that currently occupies that space???

I wish they would add another country, we have been waiting for that since it opened.
As for the train, there is so much room they could move it to, I'm thinking it should be at the beginning of world showcase and have a miniature world showcase for the trains to go around. They can size the park to the trains and make it more realistic.
I know WDW is the place where the impossible becomes possible, but it would be a very strange decision to put Brazil in EPCOT now, the social and political situation in the country is very complicated and I don't see how Disney can allow this type of controversy around such a huge announcement.

Guess we will have to wait and see...
I completely agree and would rather see Argentina there instead of Brazil!!!!!!

We're not that better either... but at least our problems are kept under the media radar
I've been thinking about this, and actually (to me) the best choice would be Peru.
First of all, they're landscapes are amazing. Machu Picchu is breathtaking. Second of all, they're food is delicious and a very unique mixture of Latin, Asian and local. And third, they can be easily linked to The Emperor's New Groove, such an overlooked and funny movie

I think you might be onto something especially since Disney is going to be updating Epcot and adding attractions related to the movies (Mulan in the Chine Circle-Vision 360, Remy in the France new ride, already have Frozen in Norway). So, why not link the attraction to The Emperor's New Groove.
MY VOTE IS FOR PERU then!!!

It is all but confirmed from WDW themselves but Brazil will be the next country added to World Showcase. Based on what I have heard and read, I don't think that will change between now and when D23 Expo 2017 happens which is July 15 - 17, 2017.
As you can see, Brazil will be built in the space between Germany and Italy. This area occupies 1.5 acres and currently includes the mini-train display.
Greek food has too many parallels to Italian Egypt, India, too close to Morroco Many South American cuisines have similarities to Mexico
If I was to think about the food, I would think Spain, Jamaica, Russia. I wonder how much of Norwegian cuisine parallels Eastern Block
There is more to the showcase countries than just food. Greece has the history as does Egypt. India has the history, culture and food.
Greek food similar to Italian....I think not Greek has feta and Italian has ricotta, mozzarella and parmesan Italian has pasta, arborio rice and polenta and Greek has filo Yes, they both good with a lot of olives, olive oil and tomatoes The Mezzogiorno is very similar to Greece, in terms of family relationships, food, behavior etc. The North especially Turin and Milan often seem to have a more Central European mentality. Genoa leans towards France.
I don't disagree that Egypt food is a lot like Moroccan food but that is because Moroccans traded with everyone in the Mediterranean which includes Egypt since historically, Egypt had one of the largest and business ports in the Mediterranean.
Indian food similar to Moroccan...well for the same reason as Egypt food similar to Moroccan. Yes, they both have tagine and couscous but hummus is more Arabic then Moroccan.
As far as South American food similar to Mexican. Ask "dll" if he thinks his Argentinian food is similar to Mexican. To some degree it is since they were both influence by the Spanish that explored both areas but Argentinian food is so influenced by the Mediterranean. That would be like saying American is similar the European/British but if that is the case then why did America create the first fortune cookie. Also, I believe Brazilian food is more influenced by its Portuguese history than its Spanish history.
Again, all said and done, there is more to the pavilions than just food!!!!
Wow doc I can't believe you said that last sentence! I may have to change my thinking about you being a 100% foodie.....lol
second star to the right and straight on till morning

Am and will always be a foodie but there are more to the pavilions than just food. I believe that if you go just for the food, then you really haven't experienced the pavilions or the nature of what the World Showcase was designed to be. Talk to the CM's from the different countries and you might learn a few things.

Ok doc NOW I feel better....I agree totally. One trip over...an adult one, not with MILO we decided to just experience the countries and did things much differently than normal....we DID learn a lot more and talking to the various CM was really just as educational

I was told by my wife (does more computer research than I do) that maybe India will be the next country to join EPCOT. And like always, people saying their food is similar to Morocco. And like Rich says it isn't all about the food, it's the experience of a new country. I just would really like more countries to join in on the fun and don't care who they are, just join in.
