LOL...no there is no World Showcase country coming to Epcot but now that I have your attention, what new country would you like to see? If you don't know, there are a total of 20 spots for countries and only 11 of those spots have been developed (not counting the Outpost). So, with that being said, which countries would you like to see filling the remaining 9 spots??
For me, I would like to see... Russia Switzerland Greece Brazil Australia / New Zealand Egypt India Spain Jamaica
Prior: Offsite most every other years from 1972 - 2000
Most recent: Offsite 2001 & 2003 / ASM 2006 / Offsite 2009 / Poly 2011 / POR 2013 / CR 2014 / GF 2015 / DS Hotel 2017 / BC 2017 / POR 2018
It has been a very big disappointment that no other countries have come to EPCOT since the original countries. This is one of the reasons we like the Food and Wine to try foods from other countries. I actually asked that they also sell handmade items from each country during this festival. I keep hoping someone listens and goes forward with this idea. Maybe grouping countries together for a new land would work such as the Caribbean, Asia, Africa, South America, Central America, South Pacific. If not then Russia Australia Spain Brazil
Wow doc your brain must never stop going!!!! I guess I'd love to see something developed from Africa....
They started to that is why there is the OutPost but after the development of AK, they figured that would mostly Africa (and Asia) which is why the current OutPost is small and is one of the side to still develop a pavilion. As far as further developments from Africa, you do have Morocco. Besides something like maybe Egypt, I don't think you would see anymore development from Africa.

I would love to see: Scotland Spain Slovakia Australia Greece Russia
Scotland was part of Millennium Village. I agree I would like to see this but I think the only way that would happen would be if Scotland wins the vote of separating itself from the U.K. as Scotland (Ireland) is already presented by the pavilion U.K.

You're right. But I always think of the UK pavilion as being more England than anything else. Being part Scot, I would love to see it represented on its own. Maybe one day...

I completely agree with you

Apparently, new countries are that far away based on the reports from WDWThemeParks....
"While nothing seems imminent, there have been several indications that a Brazil, Spain or Puerto Rico Pavilion is or was being considered for Epcot's World Showcase.
In 2011, the Folha newspaper in Brazil reported that Disney has been in discussions with the Brazilian government about sponsoring a Brazil pavilion in World Showcase. Around the same time, other indications have come in the form of Vinylmation where a set of 12 Vinylmation was released where each figure featured a flag from one of the 11 countries currently in World Showcase, the 12th figure featured the Brazil flag.
In May of 2014 a piece of concept art for the Brazil pavilion was posted online in a WDWMagic discussion of the Ratatouille attraction from Disney Studios Paris being placed in the France Pavilion in Epcot.
In September of 2014, Metro.pr (a Puerto Rican newspaper) reported that Puerto Rico could begin construction on a new pavilion in 2017.
In March of 2017, The Unofficial Guide's Disney Dish Podcast with Jim Hill and Len Testa discussed the possibility of a Spain Pavilion featuring an attraction based on the upcoming animated movie, Gigantic."
I told my wife about this post and asked which 9 she would include. She came up with a VERY interested one that I think has merit and is a nation older than U.S.A., Canada or Mexico (which are already represented).
Nation of Native Indians
Mexico touches it briefly with the Incas but nothing else. Native Indians have been a "Nation" for hundreds of years, have unique food and drink, have tons of history, aren't represented at Epcot (for that matter aren't represented at most places), and could provide a lot of education.

Sadly we would end up with the outpost I believe!!!
There are so many nations that vary in so many ways, I can see them being so overwhelmed by choice and opportunities that they would under deliver. They should & could add to each pavilion - expand in Mexico and do something with the totems in Canada - but we have just colonial America with no representation.

Greek food has too many parallels to Italian Egypt, India, too close to Morroco Many South American cuisines have similarities to Mexico
If I was to think about the food, I would think Spain, Jamaica, Russia. I wonder how much of Norwegian cuisine parallels Eastern Block

I may not be objective with this one, but I think Argentina should be included. Most people don't know but Disney found here TWO major inspirations for his life work.
1) the forest in Bambi is in Argentina, it is called Bosque de Arrayanes (something like Myrtle wood) and there's even a little hut that you may recognize! He travelled to our south region to draw those particular and beautiful trees.
2) Republica de los niƱos (Children's republic) it's Latin America's first theme park. Walt himself visited this park, and if you look at the pictures, you may find the resamblance
So, I think we earned that spot! (and, you would love the food there!)

There is more to the showcase countries than just food. Greece has the history as does Egypt. India has the history, culture and food.
Greek food similar to Italian....I think not Greek has feta and Italian has ricotta, mozzarella and parmesan Italian has pasta, arborio rice and polenta and Greek has filo Yes, they both good with a lot of olives, olive oil and tomatoes The Mezzogiorno is very similar to Greece, in terms of family relationships, food, behavior etc. The North especially Turin and Milan often seem to have a more Central European mentality. Genoa leans towards France.
I don't disagree that Egypt food is a lot like Moroccan food but that is because Moroccans traded with everyone in the Mediterranean which includes Egypt since historically, Egypt had one of the largest and business ports in the Mediterranean.
Indian food similar to Moroccan...well for the same reason as Egypt food similar to Moroccan. Yes, they both have tagine and couscous but hummus is more Arabic then Moroccan.
As far as South American food similar to Mexican. Ask "dll" if he thinks his Argentinian food is similar to Mexican. To some degree it is since they were both influence by the Spanish that explored both areas but Argentinian food is so influenced by the Mediterranean. That would be like saying American is similar the European/British but if that is the case then why did America create the first fortune cookie. Also, I believe Brazilian food is more influenced by its Portuguese history than its Spanish history.
Again, all said and done, there is more to the pavilions than just food!!!!
