Guardians of the Galaxy attraction should replace Ellen's Energy Adventure. Cathie told me there is already one in the DCA. After research, I have found that the Californian attraction forecasted for July 2017, is a new version of the existing Tower of Terror on Hollywood Boulevard in the DCA. So what will it be in Epcot ? I don't see the relations between both attractions at first sight. But surely I'm wrong. Thanks for all information i could get. (I deeply regret that Ellen's has been cancelled, we liked very much this attraction)

Hey Paul, No need to regret yet. Ellen's Hasn't been cancelled and all anyone is hearing is conjecture. Ellen's Energy Adventure is up and running and has no official confirmation of a closing or refurbishment. Its a rumor. By the way, It's one of my favorite too.

You are correct. There is no relation between Tower of Terror at DCA and Ellen's Energy at Epcot. I only things I have read about the new ride are that it will a flying roller coaster and the first roll coaster in Epcot and that it is suppose to open in 2018. As far as I know, Ellen's Energy Adventure is still up and running.

You would think they would use the Horizons building first. BESIDES, They've got too much going on now with Pandora, ROL, Toy Story Land, Star Wars Land, etc.

I completely agree...You have the Horizon building that is only used to special events....Why not take that one over??
At least Ellen's Energy can still be an attraction to draw people in while they build the new ride in Horizon but then again, we aren't the ones doing the designing.

along with DVC projects, There is not enough contractors in that part of the state for more to be added Before 2019. Speaking as a contractor in a resort area.
wow, considering there is no prototype yet, how could they associate this with Guardians of the Galaxy. That won't get built til at least 2020. They had the prototypes done for avatar rides in 2014 and its still not done.
I totally agree but that is all I have been able to find out. With three park expansions and still trying to ROL working correctly, I am not sure how fast they will be working on Guardians of the Galaxy ride.

Something IS happening to Ellen's Energy Adventure but now the questions is what.
It was made public Saturday, May 20, 2017, that Disney filed paperwork with the South Florida Water Management District indicating plans to reroute a drainage canal behind Universe of Energy and create two new retention ponds to hold additional runoff.
According to Jason Diffendal of WDW News Today, the new construction area will incorporate "not only the canals and a large area of land, but also the Universe of Energy attraction itself. Likely an additional show building to be used for a future attraction coming to the Universe of Energy pavilion."

It is a nice quiet ride but it is a little dated as this version of the Universe of Energy is 21 years old (opened September 15, 1996) and hasn't had an update since. Actually, that was only a minor change (music and adding Ellen) from the original Universe of Energy that opened in 1982; therefore, no major update has been done for the 35 years!!!! If they are replacing it or giving it a new face lift hasn't been confirmed yet. There are rumors that GOTG is replacing it but nothing has been confirmed. Maybe they are just going to update it. Either way, I agree it is a nice ride but it NEED updating.
