I don't remember the drive-in movies days of the 50-60's (just barely old enough to hit the 60s). But I really enjoyed sitting in the "cars" with the family and watching old "B" movie trailers at the Sci-fi Restaurant. I built my own Angus burger and enjoyed a Magical Star Cocktail with it (don't forget to take your souviner glowing ice cube with you). And I couldnt leave without at least sampling the House-made Sci-fi candy for dessert. The food was good and our server made the experience great. He really played it up for grandkids, who couldn't believe they could sit in the front seat of the car by themselves.

It's a great spot....how many glowing cubes do you want? I probably haze dozens.....lol

We haven't eaten there. Besides dining in the cars and the glow-in-the-dark ice cubes, why / what else would you tell a newbie is a reason to try this restaurant??

It's more like an attraction, than a dining experience. Food is so-so. Not a foodie place. Prices are a bit high for the food. The atmosphere is set like old drive-in theatre. So burgers(18$), chicken(16$), salads(15$), also a N.Y. strip(32$). Lots of types of beer and cocktails though. Orbiting Oreos is an Oreo Shake mixed with Godiva chocolate liqueur and a glow cube.
The Orbiting Oreos sound nice and my wife would probably enjoy that. "Lots of types of beer".....I am game!!!! Always willing to try a new beer.
IMHO if you want good food in H.S. Brown Derby is number 1, Mama Melrose is number 2. I don't do Disney Dining for meatloaf, chicken, spaghetti,or shepherds pie. Those are snacks. I'll cook that in my room if I want it.

Doc Dean got that right.....Food isn't what you are paying for....it's the hype, the atmosphere.....outside getting into car to pose for a picture to remember the meal by......

So Dean I guess you eliminated Prime Time 50s cuz down home cooking is what they serve ..... it's all about the atmosphere there....but then again a lot of what foreigners come there for IS the down home cooking in the US they hear so much about.....so it's a matter of perspective.....it IS my favorite bar to go to......

I eliminated it because I can cook better, In less time, and I eat like a gentleman,so I don't need to be nagged about proper etiquette at the dinner table. Remember, I have a daughter that is a registered chef.

It is the experience, true. Like other restaurants, it's just a fun place to go. Remember, I have a 5 & 6 yr old in tow, that actually sat, ate and watched the giant bugs tearing up the neighborhood. (And the hamburger and dessert was good, but not a foodie place.)
