it must be working out well, do they have a place at the parks to activate it to get back?
No....the front desk activates the app on your phone and then you can use it through your phone through out your vacation. That way you don't have to get the app "re-activated" each time you want to use it. You just use the Lyft app but click on the Minnie Van instead.

so if I understand you correctly, you can get the Minnie Van from a park to the resort by using your phone.

How does that compare (price) to using a taxi from WDW to the airport?

I don't really know as I don't take a taxi but I will see if I can find a rough price. If I am staying on property I used the Disney Magical Express.
Ok....
I found Mears Taxi is about $70 and that usually covers 1 - 2 persons and Orlando Shuttle Service is about $50 for the same 1 - 2 persons. The Minnie Van Service is $150.00 up to 6 people.

We also always use the Magical Express to and from the airport, but always wondered what the cost of a taxi would be. Thanks Rich
